15 oz Can Tomato Sauce

3 oz Tomato Paste

2 Cloves of Garlic, minced

1/2 Tbsp Maple Syrup

2 tsp Oregano

1/2 tsp Thyme

8-10 Fresh Basil Leaves, chopped

Salt and Pepper to taste

Red Pepper Flakes to taste, optional


Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan, bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes. 


Note from Alicia - Many recipes for marinara require sugar. I wanted to use a healthier sugar, like our maple sugar, as a substitute. Could it be done? Voila! This recipe was born. There isn't a maple taste, just a healthier and yummy marinara!
