6 or 12 Precooked Maple Brats *
3 Tbsp Butter
2 1/4 Cups Milk
3 Cups Flour
2 tsp Salt
2 Tbsp Maple Sugar
1 tsp Yeast
4 Jalapenos, finely chopped
3-4 Cups additional Flour
Grill maple brats and set aside to cool.
Combine butter and milk in a saucepan and heat on the stove until 118F.
Put the dry ingredients (not the additional flour) in a mixer, stir, then pour in the milk mixture, mix well. Then while mixing gradually add additional flour, approximately 3 cups until it is the consistency of bread dough.
Put dough in a greased bowl, cover and let it rise until it has doubled in size.
Then punch it down and divide it in half.
For 6 brats -
Roll half the dough and roll out with a rolling pin into a circle. Cut the dough like a pie into triangular slices. Roll each brat in a slice of dough and place on a greased 9x13 pan. Let rise, then bake at 350F for 25 minutes.
(Put the other half of the dough in a greased load pan for a loaf of jalepeno bread)
* Makes 6 maple pigs in a blanket and a loaf of jalapeno bread, or 12 maple pigs in a blanket.
